Swansea University

Simon has been providing specialist input to professional training programmes in social work at Swansea University for many years. Drawing on a breadth of experience as a senior manager and a practitioner Simon helps trainee social workers to gain a clear understanding of statutory safeguarding duties. As a trainer he is adept at helping students to identify and work through complex critical issues that underpin safeguarding policy and practice, especially in relation to direct casework. He often achieves this through interactive exploration of case studies. Simon is also skilled at demonstrating how past events have led to recent developments in legislation, policy and practice. He prides himself on being up-to-date. Trainees always respond well to Simon’s style of delivery. His input is highly valued and appreciated by trainees and staff!
